A fairly new type of sliding glass shower door that has become a favorite choice of Dallas homeowners is called a “Hydroslide”. Unlike the traditional sliding shower enclosures that have been available throughout the years, Hydroslide shower doors only have one sliding panel. Alamo Glass & Mirror has installed 5 of these modern looking shower doors in the last 2 weeks and have several other customers who have one on order.
Hydroslide shower enclosures can be made using either 1/4″ thick glass or 3/8″ thick glass with the latter being the most popular. A Hydroslide sliding shower enclosure has a bar across the top of the unit. One glass panel slides on rollers mounted to the top of the panel. The other glass panel is stationary and is connected by brackets attached to the top bar and fastened through holes on the top of the glass panel. There is no metal on the walls and very minimal metal at the bottom of the enclosure making this the most frameless design for a sliding shower door.
These shower doors are a great choice for a bathroom with limited space. Many times when Dallas homeowners are remodeling a bathroom, they may take out a tub and convert it into a walk in shower. Often times there is a toilet to close to the shower that does not allow room for a swinging door. The sliding panel design gives the customer wanting a beautiful frameless shower door a great option.
All of the hardware used on a hydroslide shower enclosure is very stylish. It is available in the following finishes:

The most common glass used is clear. however other glass options include but are not limited to:
